For professionals and individuals regarding proper installation

Tip:

To ensure proper installation and maintain warranty protection, we recommend contacting a professional installer if you do not have sufficient experience with plumbing installations.

Tools

To carry out a proper installation, you should equip yourself with the necessary tools and instruments. You will need:

  • Water collection basin/drip tray
  • Mop or cloth
  • Pipe wrench
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Drill
  • Hammer
  • Pencil
  • Spirit level
  • One meter

The range of materials and tools required for installation may vary depending on the type of drinking water installation in your home.

Unpacking

First, check if you have all the materials needed to install the filter. Then, open the Zest box and verify if it contains the following:

  • 1 Zest HLC/01 filter
  • 2 flexible hoses
  • 2 wall mounts
  • 2 sets of screws + wall plugs for mounting
  • Any reducers, adapters, if ordered

Manual installation

Shut off the main water supply or the valve controlling the line where the filter is installed.

Place the necessary components and tools next to the pipe, and begin disconnecting the pipe where the filter is to be installed. Remember to close the valve on this pipe to avoid flooding.

After disconnecting the pipe and creating space for the filter, check where you want to attach it to the wall. Take measurements using a spirit level, tape measure, and pencil, then mark the spots where holes for the mountings should be drilled.

Before drilling holes in the wall, check that the position of the mounting holes does not interfere with other pipes or electrical wires in the wall. Then, drill the holes, insert the wall plugs, and attach the filter mount.

Take the filter and connect the connecting hoses to both ends of the filter (inlet and outlet). When connecting the hoses, make sure they are properly threaded onto the filter to ensure a tight seal and avoid damaging the connection.

Take the filter and place it in the appropriate mounts. Secure the mounts by tightening with the available screws. Then, take the flexible hoses and connect them to the inlet and outlet pipes, ensuring the same level of caution. Tighten the water pipes carefully to avoid damaging the threads.

Check if all connections have been correctly installed. The installation is complete!

Starting the filter

Before opening the main valve or the one that was closed before the filter installation, check if a condensate filter is installed at the point (tap) where venting is being performed. If necessary, remove it and reinstall it after the startup is complete.

Open the tap at the location where you decided to vent the filter

Slowly open the main valve or tap on the line where you installed the filter and allow water to flow very slowly for the first 5-10 liters. This helps properly moisten the filter matrix and remove air trapped in the pores of the Zeolite/Clinoptilolite. This process ensures that pressure drops caused by air pockets remaining in the filter do not occur over time.

When water starts flowing from the selected points, such as taps in the kitchen, slowly open the valve until it is fully operational and allow the water to flow for 5-10 minutes until it becomes crystal clear. This will allow the filter to eliminate the gas trapped in the filter matrix and clear any mineral deposits/waste without clogging the condensate filters.

After testing the filter, close the tap at the dosing point and reinstall the condensate filters. The installation is complete!

The installation is complete, enjoy 2 years of excellent water.
